From what age can I use the Vinopure range?

The Vinopure collection is more for a “skin type” (oily and/or with blemishes) than a particular "age” range. However, the Vinopure products have not been subjected to the specific testing requirements for use on people under the age of 18 and the range is not recommended for children. As a precaution, we do not recommend the collection for pregnant women due to the presence of essential oils. Similarly, although the collection contains the optimised dosages of essential oils to offer maximum efficacy and safety for the skin, essential oils are not recommended for use on sensitive skin.

Is the Vinopure collection suitable for sensitive skin?

Due to the products in the Vinopure collection containing essential oils and natural alcohol, they are not recommended for sensitive skin.

Is the Vinopure collection suitable fo dry skin?

The Vinopure collection has been specifically formulated for combination to oily skin and contains active ingredients that help reduce excess sebum. Vinopure is therefore not the best solution for dry skin, which requires long-term comfort and moisturisation (Vinosource range). However, combination to dry skin can use the Vinopure Toner and the Vinopure Blemish-Control Serum as a "targeted" blemish treatment.

Is the Vinopure collection safe to use during pregnancy?

As a precaution, we prefer not to recommend products rich in essential oils to pregnant women.

Are Vinopure products photosensitive?

All the Vinopure day products have been tested and are non-photosensitive; they can therefore be applied before sun exposure*. However, they do not provide SPF protection from the harmful effects of the sun.

Is the Vinopure collection non-comedogenic?

All products in the Vinopure collection have been tested to ensure that they do not block the skin's pores.

What are the main causes of spots in adults?

Pollution, stress, hormonal factors, diet, sun exposure, tobacco, etc. The skin reflects the condition of our metabolism and blemishes can appear at any age. However, it is common for spots/ blemishes to appear in adults, often around the age of 30, particularly on the chin and back. This is mainly linked to genetics or to a hormonal imbalance (one-off or linked to a form of contraception). It may be useful to consult a dermatologist and/or GP if blemishes reoccur despite adequate skin care.

What should I do when a spot appears on the tip of my nose?

When a spot starts to appear, the area is inflammed causing a sensation of heat and redness. It's important to act as quickly as possible to prevent the spot from developing. Do not "pick" at the area and/or try to pop an emerging spot because lesions will make the situation even worse and may lead to unsightly scars. The ideal course of action is to cleanse the skin with a suitable purifying cleansing gel, such as our Vinopure Purifying Gel Cleanser, then to apply a drying serum such as our Vinopure Blemish Control Infusion Serum to the spot to stop it developing. An emerging spot can fade in a night if you use the right routine.

I have marks on my face left by spots, what should I do?

Marks left by spots that have not been treated properly are unfortunately a frequent reality that makes the complexion less even. We recommend you apply a serum specifically for evening the complexion and preventing marks, such as our Vinoperfect Serum, which has received very good feedback for its ability to fade marks. The Vinopure range is also suitable as it contains salicylic acid (toner, serum and gel cleanser) which eliminates dead cells on the skin's surface and thus helps to quickly erase marks left by poorly treated spots.

How do I know if I have combination or oily skin?

A simple test you can carry out is to apply a little blotter to the skin for a few seconds: if the blotter is "marked/ damp" when removed, then the skin is oily in this area. More simply, oily skin tends to become shinier as the day progresses, oily to the touch, and make-up doesn't stay on so well. Most of the time, areas of oiliness are limited to the so-called "T" zone, which is the forehead, the nose and the chin. If the skin on the rest of your face is normal or dry, then your skin is said to be "combination".

How to control oily production?

The error to avoid is to stop moisturising your oily skin thinking that this will reduce the "oiliness or shine": quite the opposite, oily skin needs to be moisturised in order to function properly, but with the right textures and non-comedogenic formulas that will help reduce excess sebum and therefore tighten the skin's pores and mattify the complexion (Vinopure Mattifying Fluid). It is also essential to cleanse your skin properly to remove impurities, because when mixed with sebum, these impurities may lead to spots (Vinopure Gel) . Lastly, it is recommended to exfoliate at least once a week to unblock the pores. Food and lifestyle can also help improve the skin's appearance.

How to reduce blackheads and enlarged pores?

Our skin's pores are "channels" that allow the skin to evacuate sweat and sebum. When there is excess of sebum (such as when the skin is oily), the "channels" widen and the pores appear to be clogged or enlarged. Blackheads are the result of clogged pores (excess sebum on the skin's surface) that oxidise on contact with the air (hence the black colour, unlike a white head, which stays "closed" and therefore does not oxidise). Clogged pores and blackheads are therefore caused for the same reason: excess sebum production, which can be controlled with the right ingredients (Vinopure collection).

Why are essential oils good for the skin?

Essential oils are both powerful and effective ingredients as they are the most active ingredients derived from plants. Futhermore, they are also characterised by a unique and complex composition that science cannot reproduce.

Is there a risk for my skin in the event of excessive use of essential oils?

Caudalie's Natural Formulation Laboratory has thoroughly tested and optimised the dosages of essential oils used in the Vinopure collection. The formulas have been dermatologically tested to be both highly effective and safe for the skin. It is therefore not possibly to over-use these essential oils (unlike home-made products).

Does the Vinopure range contain fragrance?

The collection's scent is derived from its complex of 100% active essential oils (used in all of the formulas). The Vinopure collection does not contain fragrance, only essential oils.
